Thermador Evaporative Swamp Cooler Basket Axle Shaft & Spring Mechanism
ONE OF THE RAREST PARTS of the thermador swamp cooler is now available! The basket axle (shaft) and spring are the #1 cause of internal mechanical failure on the thermador cooler. This new replacement is basically identical. Insert the axle through the basket before fully inserting it remember to feed the spring over the axle INSIDE the basket cavity. Then using pliers or a small screw driver pry the BENT IN end of the spring INTO the hole located 3” approximately from the front end of the axle. With the spring tip inserted into the axle hole, you can press the axle down compressing the spring until it can be inserted through the axle hole in the open (front) end of the basket. When the front of the axle protrudes out from the basket a few inches, you can now reach into the basket opening and feed the back end of the spring tip through the offset hole in the back plate. Congratulations! Youve now rebuilt your Themador Evaporative cooler basket return spring mechanism! Some people still assume these parts aren’t available anymore, well all that’s changed! Now you can replace your Thermador parts!. They function almost indistinguishably from the original, BUT ARE ACTUALLY AVAILABLE!
(Must be installed from inside the cooler)
