Thermador Replacement Filter Aspen Pad Basket
Danger!!! Swamp coolers can carry black mold or worse! Its not easy to replace the pad material in your thermador swamp coolers, but it’s definitely made easier if you just swap out the basket! There no reason to be taking the risk. Replacement is made so much easier by not having to rebuild the basket and stuff it with messy pad material!
Hi there,
My names ChrisB I’m a retired ASE certified master technician with over a decade in Volkswagens restoration. I’ve been restoring and remanufacturing swamp coolers for half a decade. I have remanufactured many parts for availability to the public as well as located some limited extra original parts from cooler disassembled.
This listing is for the thermador swamp cooler evaporative pad basket. 100% new (new pad, new mesh, new metal end caps, everything new) For a while I've wanted to provide an easier way to offer swamp cooler refreshing services. Well now replacing your pad material is as easy as changing a car air filter. With this complete filter unit all you have to do is unbolt the back end cap untie or cut your cord, slide the inner end cap and rod and filter basket out as one unit. Cut or untie the inner end of the pull cord. Install the cord similarly into the new basket. Unhook the retraction spring from the rod and or basket remove old basket replace it with the new one, reattach the spring insert the cord into its wheel channel whilst inserting the basket rod and end cap unit. Retie the pull cord end outside then loosen the basket rod and rotate the rod clockwise which should wind up the cord and tension the basket retraction. Then tighten the rod and replace the end caps taking care to seal the final end cap.
